John is a graduate of Oxford University and an Associate of the Institute of Bankers. He worked for 26 years for Barclays Bank, serving as Operations Director for Premier Banking, Regional Operations Director in East Midlands and East Anglia and in Corporate Banking relationship roles in Gloucestershire, the City and West End of London.

He undertook secondments to industry and the public sector, including a period as Financial Adviser to the Committee on Finance for Industry at the National Economic Development Office, where he developed a continuing interest in the growth and financing of SMEs.

John has worked as a business consultant specialising in strategic planning, change and project management, HR (especially recruitment and assessment), coaching and mentoring. He is accredited to deliver training using the HBDI Thinking Styles technique.

In his work with Secantor Limited John collaborated with Keith Goodchild, Managing Director at Creo Performance Limited, to design and deliver a series of Sales and Networking skills workshops for their team of Finance Directors. Each director was also profiled using the HBDI process and individual feedback sessions were provided as part of their ongoing development.

Outside work John has a keen interest in Military History, classic cars and antique weapons.
